Medina Residence
Description:
A romantic take on the French country house inspired this home. The centrally placed entry is distinguished by a round tower with a conical roof; extensive interior woodwork and half-timbering in the Norman style used reclaimed chestnut and teak from the East Coast. Stone terracing and pathways link a series of outdoor garden rooms. The challenging site and soil conditions of this waterfront home required an auger-cast piling system, timber-lagged shoring, a shotcrete foundation, and elaborate waterproofing.
