Pioneer Square Residence
Description:
A remodel and addition to a Pioneer Square condominium. Terry described his design approach to his personal residence as “evolutionary”. A deft structural reconfiguration gained a master bath and a sitting room on the upper level with a library and a bath added at the main level. The kitchen was altered into a smaller, more efficient space with steel-and-glass pocket doors. Recessed reveals “float” the walls over the floors. Wood, steel, concrete and plaster show the marks of hand-applied finishes in subtle tones. The roof deck was transformed into a private oasis just above the lively urban street below.
